Permanent Jewelry

What is Permanent Jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit, clasp-free accessory that is welded directly onto you, creating a seamless and stylish piece you never have to take off. The process is quick, painless, and tailored to your personal style.

Whether you’re celebrating a special moment, matching with loved ones, or simply treating yourself, permanent jewelry is a unique and meaningful way to wear your style effortlessly!

Step 1

Getting permanent jewelry is quick, painless, and completely safe. Catch us in your neighborhood at one of our pop-up events and browse 150+ options of high-quality chains, charms, and engravable blanks.

How It Works:

Step 2

Once you choose your chain and any charms, we custom-fit the piece to your wrist, ankle, finger, or neck. We’ll work with you to make sure the fit is just right—adjusting the chain until you're completely happy with how it sits before we weld it in place.

Want to make it even more personal? You can add a custom engraved charm to your piece—featuring names, dates, initials, or even photos. Just head over to the Custom Engraving section on our site to explore your options!

Step 3

A small, safe spark from our welding tool fuses the chain, no heat ever touches your skin. The entire process takes just a few minutes and leaves you with a durable, beautiful piece you'll never have to take off.

  • 14K Gold-Filled – Thick layer of true 14K gold over an alloy. Durable, tarnish-resistant, and perfect for everyday wear. Gold-filled jewelry is made by pressure-bonding a thick layer of real gold to a base metal. It contains 100x more gold than gold-plated, making it long-lasting, tarnish-resistant, and safe for daily wear. With proper care, it can last years without fading, and it’s a beautiful option for permanent pieces

Metal Options

  • 925 Sterling Silver – A timeless classic that may require occasional polishing to maintain its shine. Sterling silver is made from 92.5% pure silver blended with small amounts of other metals for strength. It's hypoallergenic (to most) and high-quality, but can tarnish over time due to exposure to air, water, or certain products. The good news? Tarnish is natural and easy to clean, revealing the original shine beneath.

  • PVD/Ion Plated Stainless Steel-Typically 18K Gold on Stainless Steel – A budget-friendly option with long-lasting color and durability.

Also known as PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating, bonds a layer of color—like gold or rose gold—to stainless steel using a vacuum process, creating a durable, tarnish-resistant finish. It’s hypoallergenic (to most), water-safe, and long-lasting, making it perfect for permanent jewelry. Unlike traditional plating, it doesn’t fade, flake, or tarnish—just a lasting shine through every moment.

FAQs

  • No worries! Medical procedures and sports often call for the removal of jewelry. In this case, cut the piece off at the jump ring (site where it’s welded). Hang on to the chain and bring it back when you’re ready for it to be rewelded, free of charge!

If you decide permanent jewelry is not right for you, bring your chain back and we can add a clasp for $5!

  • Tarnish is caused by oxidation, which can leave a dull or darkened finish on metal—especially silver.

Our high-quality metals are selected specifically for permanent jewelry and are tarnish-resistant under normal wear. However, excess moisture, chemicals, and environmental exposure can increase the likelihood of tarnishing.

Tarnish is normal and expected over time and varies by person due to individual body chemistry. In most cases, it can be easily removed using the provided cleaning kit.

If tarnish does not improve with proper cleaning, please contact us. In rare cases, a manufacturing or supply issue can occur, and we’re happy to review the piece and discuss next steps.

For full details, see our Aftercare & Warranty section.

  • Darkening on the skin is not always tarnish. It can also be caused by metallic abrasion, which occurs when friction between the jewelry and skin—combined with lotions, oils, sweat, or minerals—creates a temporary dark residue.

This is a surface reaction, not damage to the jewelry, and does not mean the metal is poor quality. Abrasion varies by lifestyle, skin chemistry, and daily activity.

  • While no metal is completely maintenance-free, these steps help reduce tarnish and abrasion:

    • Keep jewelry clean and dry, especially after sweating or swimming

    • Avoid lotions, perfumes, sunscreens, and harsh chemicals directly on the jewelry

    • Rinse with clean water after exposure to chlorine, saltwater, or well water

    • Gently clean regularly using the provided cleaning kit

    • Avoid repetitive friction in high-contact areas when possible

Proper care significantly extends the appearance and longevity of permanent jewelry.
